PROGRAM

Day 1: Departure from the airport to San Salvador, with a stop en route for breakfast (American breakfast or pupusas). Explore the capital city, including the Relief Map and a walk in the historic center. Visit the National Library. Continue to Suchitoto. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the lake, where migratory birds are often spotted. Overnight in Suchitoto.

Day 2: Depart from Suchitoto to explore the Maya Ruins of Joya de Cerén. This ancient Maya village was covered by volcanic ash and preserved until its discovery in 1977. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the ruins of Joya de San Andrés, a ceremonial center. Panoramic view of Santa Ana, the second-largest city in El Salvador. In the afternoon, continue to the Tazumal Pyramid, the largest in the country. Overnight in Ataco.

Day 3: Morning visit to a coffee plantation with over 100 years of coffee processing history. Learn about the coffee-making process. Afternoon free time. Explore attractions like hot springs, zip-lining, buggies, or the labyrinth. Your private driver will be ready to transfer you if desired. Overnight in Ataco.

Day 4: Depart from your hotel in Ataco. Pass through typical towns like Salcoatitan, Nahuizalco, and Izalco. Visit Cerro Verde National Park, where you’ll hike around an extinct volcano with beautiful views of other volcanoes, valleys, and Lake Coatepeque. Continue to the airport, arriving around 4 pm.
